| How do I contact
the Silver
& Strings Trio? |
|
To request information, send an
e-mail to contractor@silverandstringstrio.com. Include the date, time period involved, and type of engagement
(wedding, reception, corporate event, anniversary, party, etc.) You will be contacted promptly with a price quote. |
| Do you have a demo CD? |
|
Yes
we do! If you listen to the
sound clips from our web site you will get a general idea of the unique
sound of flute, cello, and piano. When
you sign a contract with the Silver
& Strings Trio you may request a CD with excerpts of our extensive
repertoire to help you choose your own specialized program.
|
| Do you have other ensemble
combinations? |
|
No. Although we can be helpful
in suggesting soloists if you desire, and providing accompaniments, we are
not contractors that hire other musicians for groups of varying sizes and
instrumentation. The Silver
& Strings Trio is a specialized professional ensemble that has been
performing together since 1985. We
feel that this creates a more cohesive and polished performance that few
other groups can achieve. |
| Will
I need to amplify the Silver & Strings Trio? |
|
Although our group achieves a
fuller sound and rhythmic background by using piano, we stand apart from
many other small groups in that we provide our own sound equipment when
playing outdoors, in a large room, or for parties taking place in a noisy
atmosphere. This eliminates
your need to check with music directors at the church or managers at your
party site. We charge NO set-up
fee. In addition, a trained
musician stays on site to make sure that your guests can carry on a normal
conversation and still be heard. |
| Do
I need to provide a piano? |
|
No. Naturally, if you have a lovely grand piano, we will be happy to use
it. Most times, however, there
is no piano, or the piano that is available is not in good condition. For that reason, we bring a top-of-the-line electronic piano
that actually looks and sounds like an acoustic piano. The advantage is that it is always in tune, can be easily
amplified, and can change sounds for the type of music that we are playing.
We can be accompanied by piano, harpsichord, harp, guitar, or pipe
organ at the push of a button! Our
pianist is also an accomplished pipe organist who can play your church’s
organ if you wish. |
| How
much space will I need for the Silver
& Strings Trio? |
|
You will need very little space
for the trio. We will only need floor space measuring about eight feet
square. |
| Is
there anything that I need to provide for the Silver
& Strings Trio? |
|
All we will need is three
armless chairs and a power source. We
will provide the rest! |
| What
does your fee include? |
|
There is no charge for set-up
and tear down, and we arrive one hour prior to the engagement. For weddings, we will meet with the bride to help her plan a special
musical program that will be uniquely suited to her musical tastes. After nearly two decades of providing wedding music, we can be
extremely helpful in coordinating her special day. We play for ˝ hour before the ceremony, during the ceremony itself,
and for the recessional. Our clients are not “on the clock” for the length of the
ceremony. |
| Does
the Silver & Strings Trio have
any discounts for receptions when they are also playing for the wedding
ceremony? |
|
Yes we do! Contact us directly for details. We have an extensive repertoire of
music from which to choose, and our sound equipment makes us perfect for
large halls. |
| Does
the Silver & Strings Trio only
play classical music? |
|
Although we are classically
trained musicians who teach at the college and university level, we share a
love for popular music and jazz as well. We can play an entire evening of any genre or a mixture of it all.
Check out our ever-expanding repertoire list for examples of our
classical, popular, jazz, or holiday favorites. |
| Does
the Silver & Strings Trio play
outdoors? |
|
Yes, we do! Since the
Silver & Strings
Trio uses an electric piano we frequently play outdoors. Since our instruments are quite valuable and delicate, however, we
ask that the trio be protected from precipitation. Otherwise, a flat, shaded area is fine. |
| How
do I reserve my date? |
|
You will be sent two contracts.
You will sign both, returning one with your non-refundable
down payment and keeping one for your own records. The contract is due 10 days after it is received in order to hold
your date. The balance is due
one week before the engagement. |
